Lafayette was the youngest son of the Governor of Pallolina, Limsmith Harmen and his wife Parling. His mother, Parling, did not survive his birth, and this tragedy was the first of many that filled Lafayette's life. Due to illnesses, spontaneous violence, and random accidents, all of Lafayette's six elder siblings died before Lafayette's tenth year. As Limseth's sole remaining heir, Lafayette was constantly by his father's side as Limseth needed his son to understand what it meant to be a leader. This training was prescient as Limseth died after a Godsphere fell off the front of an Ultima Church and crushed the Governor following a service. Alone, Lafayette was named Governor of Pallolina at the young age of fifteen. This string of deadly tragedies took his father as well, and at the young age of fifteen, and illnessHe had six older siblings

President Lafayette Harmen was assassinated by the demigod Allegore and Deus Ultima loyalists in Valhalmont in year ten of United Vinland. A direct descendent of Pallolina Harmen, Lafeyette was the youngest son of Pallolina Governor Limseth Harmen and late wife Parling who died upon Lafeyette’s birth. Due to his six elder siblings also dying from various tragedies, Lafayette was named Governor of Pallolina at the young age of fifteen following the death of his father. He married Martha Plester and the pair had one son, William. A widower after his wife, Martha, fell ill at the onset of the War of Revolutions, Lafayette Harmen formerly declared independence on behalf of the colony of Pallolina and began to form the first colonial forces in the War of Revolutions. Following Valhalmont’s invasion of Regenia and the subsequent ratification of the United Vinland Constitution, Lafeyette was selected to be the first President of United Vinland.
