Captain Jane Baharme is the leader of the state of Jullicut. She is a sleek, soft-spoken woman with light skin, brown hair, and is commonly seen wearing a bicorn that obscures her eyes. The widow of fiery revolutionary Sam "The Torch" Baharme, she fought alongside her husband in Jullicut's rebellion, and following his death, took sole command of Jullicut's rebels.


She leads the state from Hot Water, her personal ship built from the remnants of the former Castle Jullicut. She is seen as fair, yet tough leader who treats all residents in Jullicut as equals as long as they are not a burden to the state.


Widow of Sam Baharme. They were both captains in charge of shipping between [[Vinland]] and [[Antilles]]. Sam rebelled and caused [[The Wine Bath|the Wine Bath]]. He died in the war. Connecticut picked her to lead as a way to honor him.

Having run away from her abusive family. Jane disguised herself as a man and found work as a crewmate upon one of Clerks and Co's ships. She was discovered as a woman by Sam Baharme, and her work effort and perseverance convinced her shipmates to accept her as their own. Over time, she was romantically linked with Sam, albeit interspersed with periods of violence between the two lovers. Despite their on and off strife, the two were married at sea.  


Sam Baharme was known as the torch. This is because he was always looking for a fire.
Increased import and export duties angered Jullicut's sailors, and Jane joined Sam as he began to lead local protests in Portsmouth. Although Sam Baharme is given credit for orchestrating, the Wine Bath, Jullicut's biggest protest where a ship's worth of wine that was dumped, it is believed that Jane was actually the one who came up with the idea.
