There should be an old God who had his people be celibate as propagating vja carnal pleasure is seen as a sin. Failing this and having children was seen as regretful, but common. Essentially everyone was in on the joke. Eventually the sane people just stopped following the god and the remaining zealots celibated themselves to extinction

“There was a minor God that I was taught to be the God of storms, although after meeting Leukic, I doubt They were actually the God of Storms. Likely they were just the God of some small group of people. Anyway, this God chose a champion to fight for him during the war and bestowed on him a flying golden chariot and the power to rain thunderbolts from the sky.”

“That sounds like it would be a big help in the war effort.”

“You’d think so! Turns out this champion took his newfound power and golden chariot and fled to the far northern islands to rule over the natives there as a tyrant.”

“So he ruled as a God?”

“For a little while. Grand Earl Magus eventually destroyed the lesser God, and with it, the man’s powers. Not to jinx us, but he died from plummeting to the earth after his gold chariot ceased to exist.”
