The Culling

Obsessed with maintaining his power through the use of Prophecies, Deus Ultima ordered the killing of all lyanans after receiving a prophecy that they would be his downfall. This served as additional fuel to the fire for the colonies to rebel. This act caused Valhalmonth to invade its neighbors to stop the Culling. Tenny and Georgina rebelled because it would rob them of their main industry. Martin Keene includes this in the Natural Order as additional proof that Deus Ultima is no God because he’s having his people do the killing and not him himself. If he was a real god, he’d snap his fingers and they’d cease to exist, or be able to wipe them from being a thing from everyone’s mystery, if he was a real god, the prophecy would be meaningless.

Most of the Antillean Lyanans were wiped out. This coincided at the same time the colonies were about to revolt so there was a decent number of refugees coming to Vinland.
