Second Temple

Outside the hostel, a Valhalmont city guard led the two men to a massive church that rested underneath a clock tower. Two large statues of a decapitated Grand Earl Magus sat at the top of the series of steps that led up to the wooden doors.

“This was the second temple of the Grand Earl Magus, but it is now one of the main branches of the God Philosopher Guild. After the War of Liberation , the leaders of the Church of Magus, whether inspired by The Natural Order or their own self-preservation, tossed aside their worship of the Grand Earl Magus and thus the God Philosophers Guild was created. Instead of worshipping the Grand Earl Magus, their mission shifted to helping the world get closer to the God of their choosing. They offer worship services of the Old Thirteen that preceded the Antillean Empire and even the lesser Gods that are rarely acknowledged. Of course, they also still offer worship services for the Grand Earl Magus for those who request it, but as you might imagine, there’s not many of them left… Publicly at least.”
